Destination Athlone, in conjunction with Athlone Chamber of Commerce, are launching Destination Athlone 2020, on Monday 23rd March 2020, setting the scene for an exciting programme of promotional activity during 2020. All tourism related businesses from pubs, cafes, hotels and restaurants to attractions and activity providers are encouraged to come along and hear about upcoming opportunities for their business and how to get involved.
Destination Athlone is a network of tourism related businesses working together to promote Athlone and its hinterland as a premier tourist destination in Ireland’s Hidden Heartland. The launch will introduce Brouder Marketing, the agency appointed to carry out marketing activities for Destination Athlone They will present an overview of planned activity for 2020 with details on how every business can benefit directly from involvement, followed by discussion and a workshop. A steering group representing the different business sectors will be set up after this event which will give every sector a chance to have direct input into promoting Athlone.
This event also marks the beginning of a collaboration between Athlone Chamber of Commerce and Destination Athlone. “Athlone Chamber of Commerce are looking forward to working closely with Destination Athlone”, said Gerry McInerney, CEO Athlone Chamber of Commerce, “A co-ordinated approach will maximise the benefit for all involved and result in a higher profile for the town. The two bodies will work in tandem to make Athlone a better town to live, work and stay in”.
The Destination Athlone 2020 launch takes place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone on Monday 23rd March 2020 with registration at 10am.
