Rotary Club of Athlone Young Writer Competition 2014

This competition aims to encourage young people to use their writing skills, creativity and imagination. The theme for 2014 competition is "What a difference that made to my life/their lives". The that can be anything they choose. [An A4 page or 500 hundred words written or typed is a suggested suitable submission]

Rotary Club Athlone Young Writer CompetitionThe competition is open to three age categories, with ages taken on 31st August 2013

JUNIOR: Aged 7 – 10 years (Date of Birth 01/09/2002 – 31/08/2006)
INTERMEDIATE: Aged 11 – 13 years (Date of Birth 01/09/1999 – 31/08/2002)
SENIOR: Aged 14 – 17 years (Date of Birth 01/09/1995 – 31/08/1999)

The judging panel will consist of three judges, with at least one person independent of Rotary.

In addition the winning entries in each age category will be entered into the Rotary All-Ireland Young Writer competition and if successful at this level, the entries will be submitted into the Rotary Great Britain and Ireland Young Writer competition.
