Statement – Athlone Town Council
River Shannon, Athlone, County Westmeath, Thursday 13th February 2014
The level of the River Shannon in Athlone remains high and has stabilised over recent days. Based on current forecasts and the ESB model, it is predicted to rise over the next five days but to a level that will not cause flooding to the lowest lying houses in Athlone.
The situation will be kept under constant review and a further update will issue if the situation changes significantly.
